What is gamification and what is it not? Hype, trend or necessity? Only for young people? Is gamification a gimmick, new marketing, customer loyalty, or strategy? Gamification is maturing. Worldwide, gamification is used for customer engagement, talent development, learning and innovation. We face the gap between what new workers and new customers – generation Y & Z – are used to when it comes to engagement, and what companies offer.

Gamification in not a quick and dirty solution. It is not about slamming some points, badges and leaderboard into your work processes and expect it to work. It is not about luring in customers with discounts, points or cards and expecting them to be loyal. Gamification is Human Centered Design. It is about people. Or as Andrzej quoted ‘True loyalty is like true love. It’s irrational, hard to find & needs constant effort’.
